Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu presented the Swachh Andhra–2026 awards to sanitation workers, civic bodies, schools, healthcare institutions, temples, NGOs and other organisations recognised for cleanliness and waste-management efforts across the state.
The awards covered municipalities, gram panchayats, hotels, Rythu Bazaars, schools, hospitals, hostels, residential institutions, bus stations, government offices and temples. The programme also recognised a startup for its work in waste management, while an exhibition was organised alongside the ceremony.
The municipalities of Tenali, Chilakaluripet, Mangalagiri, Ponnur, Bobbili, Rajam, Yelamanchili, Palamaner and Giddalur received Swachhata awards. Six gram panchayats — K Moolapeta, Ravulapalem, Pattikonda, Duppada, Namburu and RL Puram — were honoured in the Swachh Gram Panchayat category.
In the schools category, awards went to Nidamarru Zilla Parishad High School, Devirreddy Sarada High School in Nellore and Chandrampalem Zilla Parishad High School. Primary Health Centres at Pendurthi, Ibrahimpatnam, Aspari and Konakanamitla were also recognised, along with Urban Primary Health Centres in Mangalagiri-Indiranagar, Tirupati, Chinnawada and Visakhapatnam.
The awards included recognition for public and institutional facilities such as the government boys’ hostel in Chittoor, the BC boys’ hostel in Kadapa, the Tribal Welfare hostel in Anakapalli, Ambedkar Gurukulam in Palnadu and girls’ residential schools in Eluru and Bapatla. Dwarakanagar bus station in Visakhapatnam, the Chittoor Superintendent of Police office and the GVMC office were also honoured.
The Tirumala Tirupati temple, Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy temple and Simhachalam Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple received awards in the temples category. Novotel Visakhapatnam was recognised among hotels, while the Vijayawada-Payakapuram, Kurnool-See Camp and Srikakulam-Willis Rythu Bazaars were cited for maintaining sanitation standards.
Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, Swachh Andhra Corporation chairman Pattabhi and senior officials from various departments attended the programme. Naidu also visited the exhibition held as part of the awards ceremony.
