In a landmark move for urban resilience, Signature Global has entered a Rs. 380-crore agreement with Indo-Italian firm CECO Hirun Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with HySAFE, to deploy advanced earthquake-resistance technology across its high-rise developments in Delhi-NCR over the next 15 years. The initiative introduces Hysteretic Tuned Mass Dampers (HTMDs), a specialised system designed to mitigate vibrations caused by seismic activity and wind, enhancing structural stability and occupant comfort.
High-rise buildings in India’s rapidly densifying cities face a unique set of dynamic challenges, including strong winds, temperature fluctuations, and seismic exposure. In seismic-prone regions such as Delhi-NCR (Seismic Zone IV), integrating vibration-control systems at the design stage is increasingly critical to long-term safety. HTMDs work by dissipating kinetic energy, reducing sway, and maintaining interior structural integrity protecting walls, partitions, elevators, and other essential systems from tremor-induced damage. Experts in urban planning and structural engineering view this collaboration as a benchmark for future-ready urban infrastructure. By implementing HTMDs across its portfolio, Signature Global is not only enhancing safety but also promoting long-term sustainability in residential high-rises a crucial consideration as India’s metros grow taller and denser. The programme encompasses customised design evaluation, industrial manufacturing, and on-site deployment, ensuring each project integrates HTMD technology seamlessly. Analysts highlight that such proactive measures in building design improve investor confidence, reinforce buyer trust, and can elevate property valuation over the lifecycle of a development.
Signature Global, which commands a 13% market share in the broader NCR and 20% in Gurugram within the INR 2-5 crore residential segment, has a strong track record of execution. As of mid-FY26, the company has delivered 16 million sq. ft., with 17.1 million sq. ft. of newly launched projects and 24.3 million sq. ft. slated for development over the next two to three years. By integrating HTMD systems into these projects, the company is positioning safety and resilience as core differentiators in high-rise living. CECO Hirun, supported by its technical partnership with HySAFE, brings decades of expertise in advanced structural devices, vibration-control systems, and anti-seismic technology. The collaboration signals a growing trend among Indian developers to adopt global engineering solutions that align with local construction norms and environmental considerations. Urban analysts note that initiatives like this also contribute indirectly to climate-resilient city planning, as well-designed structural damping systems reduce damage and material waste during extreme weather or seismic events. For residents, it represents tangible benefits in safety, comfort, and long-term value, while for city planners and developers, it sets a precedent for integrating resilience into high-rise urban infrastructure.
As India’s high-rise sector expands, the adoption of HTMDs could become a benchmark for responsible and forward-looking development, particularly in seismic zones and emerging urban corridors. Signature Global’s collaboration with CECO Hirun positions the NCR market at the forefront of technologically advanced, resilient urban housing.
