Pune: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall with gusty winds across Pune, while issuing an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city’s surrounding ghat regions. The latest Pune monsoon forecast has placed focus on urban preparedness as intense showers can affect mobility, drainage systems and daily life across rapidly expanding parts of the metropolitan region.
The weather department expects stronger rainfall activity in the Pune Ghat areas, where steep terrain and high precipitation levels can increase the risk of temporary flooding, landslides and road disruptions. Pune city itself is likely to experience intermittent showers, with weather conditions expected to remain influenced by active monsoon systems across Maharashtra.
