Noida International Airport Unveils Bus Service to Uttarakhand, Strengthening Regional Connectivity
Noida International Airport (NIA) is setting the stage for an enhanced travel experience with the introduction of a new bus service linking Noida to key cities in Uttarakhand. In a strategic move to improve regional connectivity, NIA has partnered with the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) to offer seamless bus services to popular tourist destinations such as Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Haldwani. This partnership aims to bridge the gap between air and road travel, making travel more convenient for both locals and tourists, especially those planning to explore the spiritual and scenic wonders of Uttarakhand.
Located strategically near the Yamuna Expressway, NIA enjoys excellent road access to major urban centres like Delhi NCR, Noida, and Western Uttar Pradesh. This makes the airport a prime gateway for air travellers looking to connect with Uttarakhand, known for its serene landscapes and cultural significance. With the airport’s first phase set to handle 12 million passengers annually, this move is part of a broader plan to establish NIA as a regional hub capable of accommodating up to 70 million passengers when fully developed. The new bus service is designed to integrate air travel with ground transportation, offering passengers a smoother journey from NIA to their desired destinations in Uttarakhand. The buses will operate regularly, ensuring that travellers have access to a reliable, comfortable, and efficient mode of transport, further enhancing the convenience factor. By improving the accessibility of Uttarakhand’s key cities, the initiative also aligns with NIA’s broader vision to bolster tourism and regional economic development. Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, expressed his excitement about the collaboration: “This partnership with Uttarakhand Transport Corporation is a vital step towards achieving our vision for NIA as a fully integrated travel hub. By offering seamless bus connectivity to key destinations, we aim to boost regional tourism and economic growth, while providing passengers with world-class travel experiences.”
For Uttarakhand Transport Corporation, this partnership marks a significant step forward in modernising transport links to major destinations in the state. The Managing Director of UTC highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting that the service would significantly transform travel between Noida and cities like Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Haldwani, offering faster, more reliable, and more convenient travel options for all passengers. With the first phase of NIA in operation, the airport is poised to become a key travel hub for both domestic and international passengers. The expansion plans include the construction of additional runways and terminals, which will further solidify NIA’s position as a significant player in regional air travel. The introduction of this bus service is expected to drive not only tourism but also contribute to economic development in the region, making travel easier for both business and leisure travellers. Noida International Airport’s partnership with Uttarakhand Transport Corporation is a promising initiative that promises to transform the way people travel between key cities in Uttarakhand and Delhi NCR. With its focus on seamless connectivity, enhanced passenger experience, and economic growth, this service is expected to contribute positively to regional tourism and bolster Noida’s growing status as a major travel hub.
