Mysuru’s second phase of the special e-Khata drive received 808 applications on its first day, of which 740 were reported to have been approved after on-site scrutiny, according to a report by Prajavani – Mysuru. The drive is being conducted by the Mysuru City Corporation to process eligible applications and facilitate the issue of digital property records.
The first day’s exercise was held on Thursday at the offices of zones 1, 2 and 3. Applications submitted during the drive were examined at the respective offices and considered for e-Khata issuance after verification. The civic body has not indicated in the supplied report how many applications were rejected, kept pending or referred for additional documents.
The report states that 170 applications were received in zone 1, 305 in zone 2 and 266 in zone 3. These zone-wise figures add up to 741 applications, while the same report gives the total number of applications received on the first day as 808. The difference of 67 applications is not explained in the supplied material and requires clarification from the civic body.
The e-Khata process is being organised across the corporation’s zones over three days. After the first-day exercise in zones 1, 2 and 3, the special drive is scheduled to continue on Friday, November 6, at the offices of zones 4, 5 and 6. On Saturday, the exercise is scheduled to be held in zones 7, 8 and 9.
Applications that are accepted and complete the verification process will be considered for e-Khata distribution. The civic body has scheduled the distribution of e-Khatas for November 18 at 10 am at the Mysuru City Corporation’s central office on Sayyaji Rao Road, the report said.
Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner M.K. Savita said the e-Khata campaign would continue even after the special drive concludes. According to her statement cited in the report, residents will be able to take part in an e-Khata campaign at their respective zone offices every Friday.
The reported response places the focus on the administrative capacity required to process property-record applications at ward and zone offices. For applicants, the immediate milestones are the completion of verification, the scheduled continuation of the drive across the remaining zones and the distribution event planned for November 18. The corporation’s clarification of the differing total and zone-wise application figures will also be necessary for a complete account of the first day’s work.
