The Mysuru City Corporation’s special e-Khata campaign has cleared 740 of the 808 applications received so far, with eligible e-Khatas scheduled to be distributed on November 18 at the corporation’s Central Office on Sayyaji Rao Road.
The campaign was organised to make the e-Khata process more convenient for citizens. The corporation said 808 applications had been submitted, of which 740 were found to be in proper order and taken up for issuance after verification.
Applicants whose documents are approved will receive their e-Khatas at the MCC Central Office on November 18. The distribution arrangement provides a fixed location and date for citizens whose applications have completed the verification process.
The campaign is also continuing for residents in MCC zones 4 to 9 on November 6 and 7. MCC commissioner MK Savitha has appealed to residents in these zones to participate during the remaining two days and make use of the special drive.
The corporation’s update indicates that the campaign is operating through a document-checking process rather than issuing e-Khatas automatically at the time of application. Of the total applications received, 68 had not been classified as being in proper order in the information released by the MCC. The update did not specify the reasons for those applications or indicate whether applicants would be able to rectify missing or incomplete documents.
To maintain access after the special campaign, the MCC said the e-Khata service would continue every Friday at the respective zonal offices in the coming days. This will allow citizens to approach their local offices instead of relying only on the limited-period campaign.
The e-Khata system is administered through the municipal corporation’s revenue and zonal machinery. The MCC credited the deputy commissioner, zonal assistant commissioners, revenue officers, assistant revenue officers, revenue inspectors, data entry operators and other officials and staff for supporting the campaign.
Commissioner Savitha also acknowledged the guidance and direction provided by the district minister and the regional commissioner for the initiative. The corporation described the campaign as a citizen-focused public service effort.
For applicants whose cases have been approved, the next stated milestone is the distribution of e-Khatas on November 18 at the MCC Central Office. For residents in zones 4 to 9 who have not yet applied through the special drive, the remaining campaign dates are November 6 and 7, while regular Friday access is expected to continue at the zonal offices.
