The Kalyan-Dombivli water cut will affect residents across Kalyan, Dombivli, Titwala and adjoining areas from 8 am to 8 pm on September 29, as the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) carries out electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair work at four water treatment plants.
According to the KDMC water supply department, the shutdown will cover the Barave, Mohili, Netivali and Titwala water treatment plants. The interruption is expected to affect residential areas in Kalyan-Dombivli and nearby rural settlements connected to the municipal supply network.
Residents in both eastern and western parts of Kalyan have been advised to store sufficient water before the shutdown begins. The affected locations include Kalyan East and West, Manda-Titwala, Vadavali, Ambivli, Shahad and Atali. Other villages in the Kalyan rural area are also expected to face the impact of the planned stoppage.
Dombivli East and West will also experience a complete interruption during the scheduled maintenance period. KDMC has asked residents to plan their daily water requirements in advance and use stored water carefully while the work is under way. The advisory is particularly relevant for households that depend entirely on the municipal water network.
KDMC Executive Engineer (Water Supply) Shailesh Malekar appealed to citizens to cooperate with the civic administration during the maintenance and repair work. The corporation said the work has been scheduled to maintain electrical and mechanical equipment at the four treatment plants and support the proper functioning of the water supply infrastructure.
The civic body has also cautioned that supply may not return to normal immediately after the maintenance work is completed. Water distribution can take additional time to stabilise across the network after the treatment plants resume operations. KDMC has therefore urged residents to make arrangements before 8 am, avoid unnecessary consumption during the shutdown and allow time for the system to return to regular supply.
