Encroachment Crackdown MCD Removes Illegal Sheds in Bhalswa Dairy Colony

New Delhi’s Municipal Corporation (MCD) has undertaken a decisive operation to reclaim public space in Bhalswa Dairy Colony by dismantling at least ten illegal encroachments, predominantly in the form of unauthorized dairies.

A coordinated effort involving members from the veterinary department, engineering department, and the general branch of MCD, alongside local law enforcement, culminated in the removal of these encroachments, which had obstructed common passages within the colony. The operation, executed on Monday, targeted structures illicitly erected by occupants to accommodate dairy animals, impeding the free movement of residents.

During the operation, MCD teams successfully dismantled ten illegal sheds and several temporary structures utilized for dairy activities, signaling a firm stance against encroachments and reaffirming the government’s commitment to reclaiming public land for community use. To prevent future encroachments and uphold public order, MCD has dispatched formal correspondence to local police authorities, urging heightened vigilance and strict enforcement of relevant legal provisions to deter further violations.

Emphasizing the imperative of multi-departmental cooperation, MCD officials underscored the necessity for sustained efforts to address encroachment issues comprehensively. The previous issuance of a list of defaulters in the area underscores MCD’s commitment to mitigating such issues permanently.

While periodic enforcement drives are integral to maintaining order, the cooperation of all relevant departments remains paramount in ensuring the long-term efficacy of such initiatives. The MCD’s proactive approach to tackling encroachments in Bhalswa Dairy Colony underscores its commitment to upholding public welfare and preserving public spaces for the benefit of the community.
