The CIDCO housing scheme has received confirmed interest from 4,180 applicants for 4,793 homes reserved for eligible applicants from the Economically Weaker Section across Navi Mumbai, according to an official statement issued on Monday.
The homes are located in Taloja, Kharghar and Kalamboli, areas that have seen growing infrastructure and connectivity and are being developed as planned urban centres. The City and Industrial Development Corporation launched the scheme on August 15, with applications closing on September 3.
The response was announced as applicants moved through the next stage of the lottery process. CIDCO published the draft list of lottery participants on its CIDCO Homes portal on September 4. Applicants can submit objections to the draft list until September 8, while the final list is scheduled to be published on September 10.
CIDCO Vice Chairman and Managing Director Ashwin Mudgal said the response reflected citizens’ aspirations to own homes in Navi Mumbai and their confidence in CIDCO’s planned development initiatives. He said the corporation would continue to provide affordable and quality housing in planned locations, allowing residents to benefit from the region’s infrastructure and connectivity.
The scheme offers homes at affordable rates to eligible EWS applicants. Beneficiaries who meet the applicable guidelines and eligibility criteria may also receive a subsidy of up to Rs 2.5 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban. According to the official statement, the subsidy will be available until September 2026.
The number of homes offered is higher than the number of confirmed applicants, although eligibility checks and the lottery process will determine the final allocation. The published draft list gives applicants an opportunity to review the participant details and raise objections before the final list is issued.
Taloja, Kharghar and Kalamboli have become important locations in Navi Mumbai’s expanding housing market as new infrastructure and connectivity improve their appeal to households seeking comparatively affordable options. CIDCO said the housing scheme forms part of its wider effort to make home ownership more accessible while linking residents to planned urban development.
