GSB Ganpati Mumbai celebrations will draw devotees to two prominent venues in Matunga and Wadala when Ganesh Chaturthi begins on September 14, 2026. The GSB Seva Mandal at King’s Circle and the GSB Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava Samiti at Wadala have announced their locations, access details and festival arrangements for visitors planning darshan.
The GSB Seva Mandal idol will be installed at the GSB Sports Club Ground near SNDT Women’s College on R.A. Kidwai Road in King’s Circle, Matunga. Established in 1954 by the Gowd Saraswat Brahmin community, the mandal is known for its gold- and silver-adorned idol, Vedic chants, bhajans and traditional temple instruments.
Visitors using the suburban railway can reach the venue from King’s Circle station on the Harbour Line or Matunga station on the Central Line. Both stations are approximately a five- to 10-minute walk from the pandal. Taxis and autorickshaws can use SNDT Women’s College as a landmark, although parking near the venue is expected to be limited during peak hours.
The Matunga mandal is traditionally installed for a shorter period than the full Ganesh festival. Devotees have therefore been advised to check the mandal’s schedule before travelling. The venue is expected to experience heavier visitor movement during evenings and closer to visarjan.
The second venue, the GSB Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava Samiti, is located at Dwarakanath Bhavan in the Shree Ram Mandir Complex on Katrak Road, Wadala. The samiti is marking its 72nd Ganeshotsav in 2026 under the theme “72 Years of Devotion, 72 Years of Tradition, One Divine Celebration”. Its celebrations are scheduled to continue from September 14 to September 25.
Wadala Road station on the Harbour Line is about a 12-minute walk from the venue. Visitors can also travel via Dadar, Prabhadevi or Parel stations and continue by foot or local transport. BEST buses, taxis and autorickshaws connect the Dadar-Wadala stretch, with Dadar TT Circle and Maheshwari Udyan serving as useful road landmarks. Metro users may need to combine their journey with a bus, taxi, autorickshaw or walk.
The Wadala samiti has announced several seva options, including Suvarna Arpan Seva, Raupya Arpan Seva, Suvarna Durva Arpan Seva and Sampoorna Ganeshotsava Seva. Morning pooja slots are scheduled for 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, 10 am and 11 am. No poojas will be conducted on September 22 because of Ekadashi. Devotees with bookings have been advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled slot; late arrivals may have their pooja performed by the designated Vaidik priest.
The Matunga mandal has also announced an insurance cover for its 2026 celebrations. According to its convenor, Dr Bhujang Pai, the cover is intended to protect devotees, volunteers, staff, ornaments and other assets associated with the festival. The idol is expected to be decorated with more than 66 kg of gold ornaments and over 335 kg of silver, along with precious gemstones.
With both venues located close to Mumbai’s suburban railway network, local trains are likely to be the more practical option for visitors, particularly during evening periods and around visarjan on September 25. Devotees should check the respective mandal schedules and pooja arrangements before beginning their journey.
