Ahmedabad Road Accident Turns Fatal After Truck Flees Narol Crash

A 24-year-old man died in hospital four days after an Ahmedabad road accident near Narol, while police investigate an unidentified truck driver who allegedly fled the scene and a complaint that a 108 ambulance did not arrive promptly.

Jayeshkumar Makwana was riding his motorcycle past the crossroads near Apollo International School in the Narol area on the evening of October 21 when a truck allegedly hit his bike. He suffered serious injuries to his head, forehead and left arm and was rendered unconscious after the collision.

According to a complaint filed by his brother Divyakant Makwana at the ‘K’ Division Traffic Police Station, Jayeshkumar was returning from work when the crash occurred. The family lives at Panchshila Residency in Shahwadi, Narol, and Jayeshkumar worked at the same place as his brother.

The truck driver left the location after the collision, according to the complaint. Police have registered a case against an unidentified driver and begun an investigation. The supplied report does not identify the truck, provide a registration number or state whether investigators have located the vehicle.

The complaint also raises concerns about the emergency response after the crash. Local people reportedly informed the 108 ambulance service, but the family said the vehicle did not arrive immediately. They allegedly placed the injured man in an autorickshaw and began travelling towards a hospital. The family later encountered a 108 ambulance near Narol Circle and shifted him into it before taking him to LG Hospital.

Jayeshkumar was subsequently moved to SVP Hospital for further treatment. He remained under treatment for four days before the duty doctor declared him dead on October 25, according to the report. The account does not establish whether the reported delay affected the medical outcome, and no independent response from the ambulance service is included in the supplied material.

The case places two immediate public-safety issues before investigators: the need to identify the heavy vehicle involved in the collision and the functioning of emergency access at a busy urban junction. The report does not include details of the road design, traffic conditions, lighting, CCTV coverage or the exact time taken by the ambulance to reach the site.

Police are continuing their investigation into the fatal crash and the unidentified truck driver. Further findings, including the vehicle’s identification and the sequence of emergency medical transfers, will determine the next steps in the case.
