Peppermint Robotics Raises ₹100 Crore to Scale Cleaning Robots

Pune-based cleaning-robot manufacturer Peppermint Robotics has raised ₹100 crore in a Pre-Series B funding round led by pi Ventures and Crane Venture Partners, as the company prepares to expand manufacturing, hiring and overseas operations. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, Asiana Fund also participated in the round.

The investment comprises a combination of primary capital and secondary share transactions. Peppermint said the funds will be used to expand its manufacturing capacity, establish an assembly line in North America over the coming months, strengthen its workforce and support global expansion. The new facility will complement the company’s existing manufacturing operations in Pune.

Peppermint develops autonomous cleaning robots for commercial and industrial environments. Its robots are deployed in factories, hospitals, airports, malls, warehouses, hotels and universities, placing the company within a growing segment of urban technology focused on automating routine maintenance and material-handling tasks across large facilities.

The company’s expansion comes as large buildings and industrial sites increasingly require regular cleaning and operational support across extensive floor areas. Peppermint’s stated customer base covers facilities with different operating conditions, including healthcare sites, transport hubs, manufacturing units and educational campuses. The company’s robots are designed to operate in these settings, although the report does not provide details on the number of machines deployed, customer contracts or revenue generated from each market.

Peppermint previously raised ₹34 crore, approximately $4 million, in its Series A round in April 2025. The latest fundraise is therefore a substantial increase in the capital raised by the company, although the report does not disclose its valuation, ownership structure following the secondary transactions or the proportion of the round allocated to manufacturing and international expansion.

The company has expanded its international presence to nine countries, with the United States emerging as its largest market. The planned North American assembly line is intended to support this international business while retaining Pune as an existing manufacturing base. The company has not disclosed the location of the proposed assembly line, its planned production capacity or an expected commissioning date.

Peppermint also plans to broaden its portfolio of autonomous floor-cleaning and material-handling robots. It is advancing the development of its next-generation CR cleanroom robotics line, which indicates an intended move into more specialised controlled environments in addition to general commercial and industrial cleaning.

The fundraise highlights the operational demands behind the deployment of robotics in the built environment. Scaling such systems requires more than software development: manufacturers must build equipment, establish service networks, train staff and adapt machines to different facility layouts and operating conditions. Peppermint’s stated use of funds places manufacturing and international assembly alongside product development and market expansion.

The company’s next steps are to expand production, set up the North American assembly line, hire employees and continue developing its floor-cleaning, material-handling and cleanroom robotics portfolio. The report does not specify implementation milestones beyond the planned assembly-line expansion over the coming months.
