Kolkata Metro has added a new rooftop solar installation at Jessore Road station on the Yellow Line, marking another step in the city’s effort to reduce the carbon footprint of public transport infrastructure. The newly commissioned 500 kWp solar plant has been installed on the station’s rooftop and is designed to generate electricity for essential station operations such as lighting, lifts and escalators.
