Welspun Corp has secured a record $412.5 million order for high-frequency induction welded (HFIW) pipes, with production scheduled at its upgraded facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, during financial years 2028 and 2029. The contract is the largest in the company’s history by volume, length and value, according to a stock exchange filing cited by The Hindu BusinessLine.
The order was won by Welspun Tubular LLC, the company’s wholly owned US subsidiary. At around ₹4,000 crore, the contract strengthens the company’s position in the US pipe market and expands the role of its Arkansas manufacturing operations in its international supply network.
Welspun Corp said the pipes would be manufactured at the newly upgraded HFIW mill in Little Rock. The company has enhanced the facility’s production capabilities as part of its wider strategy to expand manufacturing capacity in international markets and serve customers closer to their operating locations.
The customer’s identity and the specific project for which the pipes will be supplied were not disclosed in the exchange filing. The filing also did not provide details about the pipe volumes, delivery schedule within FY28 and FY29, or the infrastructure project connected to the order.
Following the latest contract, Welspun Corp’s global order book has risen to a record $4.7 billion, or approximately ₹45,000 crore, according to the company. The order book represents contracts secured for future execution and includes business across the company’s international operations.
The company said the contract demonstrates the scale and execution capabilities of its US operations. The upgraded Little Rock mill is expected to manufacture the pipes for the new order, linking the company’s recent capital investment in the facility to a defined future production programme.
Welspun Corp has been expanding its manufacturing footprint in the US as it seeks to supply customers closer to their markets. The company said the approach would strengthen its position in the global pipe business and support its long-term relationships with international customers.
HFIW pipes are manufactured using high-frequency induction welding, a process used to produce welded steel pipes for industrial and infrastructure applications. However, the company’s filing did not specify the end-use sector, project location or intended application of the pipes covered by this contract.
The announcement comes as the US remains an important market for Welspun Corp’s pipe business.
