UP International Trade Show Opens Today as Traffic Diversions Begin

The fourth edition of the UP International Trade Show opens at India Expo Mart and Centre in Greater Noida on Friday, September 25, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah scheduled to inaugurate the five-day event and traffic diversions planned around the venue and key routes in the Noida–Greater Noida corridor.

Shah is expected to arrive at the Expo Mart by helicopter at 11:15 am and remain at the venue until 1:15 pm. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will receive him and is scheduled to spend around five hours at the trade show, where he will hold discussions with foreign delegations. More than 20 VIPs are expected to attend the opening programme, according to the report.

The trade show has been organised under the theme “UP for Global Growth, Innovation, Manufacturing and Exports”. Organisers claim that the event will bring together more than 2,400 exhibitors, over 550 international buyers from more than 85 countries, 1.50 lakh registered business-to-business buyers and more than 4.50 lakh general buyers.

The exhibition will occupy all 16 halls of the Expo Mart, with more than 2,400 stalls planned. Vietnam, Japan, Singapore, Russia, Austria and Belarus have been included as partner countries. Exhibition areas of 54 square metres each have been allocated to Vietnam, Japan and Austria, while Singapore and Russia have been allotted 36 square metres each. The proposed participation list for five of the partner countries includes 36 exhibitors and 100 buyers. Belarus has also been included as a partner country.

The programme will combine business and cultural activities, including 21 proposed knowledge sessions and 25 cultural programme slots. The event is also expected to showcase Uttar Pradesh’s trade, industry, export sectors and cultural heritage. The closing and awards ceremony is scheduled for September 29, when Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to attend.

The trade show was first held in 2023 and was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu. More than 60 countries were represented at that edition, according to the report.

Traffic movement around Greater Noida will be altered because of the expected crowds and VIP movement. Vehicles travelling from the Chilla border, DND and Kalindi Kunj towards Greater Noida via the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway will be diverted to DSC Road through the Bhangel Elevated Road and directed towards Surajpur.

Vehicles travelling from Sector 37 towards Greater Noida through the expressway will be diverted at the Sector 44 roundabout to the double service road. Commuters will then be able to continue towards their destinations through the service road and DSC Road.

Traffic from Agra towards Noida will be diverted after the Jewar toll plaza towards Jewar town. Vehicles will then be routed through the Sabota underpass, Khurja bypass and Jahangirpur. Traffic will also be sent towards Noida through the double service road near Sector 151. DCP Traffic Abhay Kumar Mishra provided the diversion details cited in the report.
