South Goa’s draft electoral rolls will be published on November 12 under the Election Commission of India’s Special Summary Revision 2026-27, giving voters and recognised political parties a defined period to check entries and submit claims or objections.
South Goa district election officer Egna Cleetus briefed representatives of recognised political parties in Margao on the revision process. The meeting covered the publication of the integrated draft rolls, the filing and disposal of claims and objections, the final publication schedule and the procedures for submitting the prescribed forms.
The claims and objections window will remain open from November 12 to December 11. Authorities will dispose of the submissions by December 28, after which the final electoral rolls will be published on January 4, 2027. The schedule follows the Special Summary Revision 2026-27 announced by the Election Commission of India on October 15.
The revision will also include the rationalisation of polling stations, which is scheduled to be completed by November 2. The process will therefore cover both the preparation of the voter rolls and administrative arrangements connected with polling-station records in the district.
Political parties were asked to appoint booth-level agents for polling stations where such appointments have not yet been made. They were also asked to coordinate with booth-level officers, scrutinise the draft rolls and report discrepancies to the authorities through the prescribed procedure.
The meeting also discussed the collection and submission of Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8, along with the sharing of information relating to claims and objections. Recognised parties will be supplied with the draft and final rolls as part of the revision process.
Cleetus stressed the need to publicise the schedule and increase voter awareness. The immediate public milestone is the publication of the integrated draft rolls on November 12, followed by the month-long period during which claims and objections can be submitted.
