Pune: Plans to establish a Pune bullet train corridor linking the city with Hyderabad have gained fresh momentum following the Centre’s announcement of three proposed high-speed rail routes originating from Hyderabad. If implemented, the network would significantly reshape intercity mobility across western and southern India while supporting regional economic integration, sustainable transport and long-term urban development.
The proposed corridors include Hyderabad–Pune, Hyderabad–Bengaluru and Hyderabad–Chennai, positioning Hyderabad as a future high-speed rail junction connecting major economic centres. Although the projects remain at the proposal stage, they form part of the Union government’s broader strategy to expand India’s high-speed rail network beyond the Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor.
