PMPML Feeder Bus Routes Boost Access to Pune Metro Line 3

PMPML feeder bus routes have begun serving Pune Metro Line 3, with 11 new services, one extended route and 22 additional stops introduced to connect commuters with stations along the Maan–Hinjawadi–Shivajinagar corridor. The services began on November 4, a day after the metro line was inaugurated.

The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited has scheduled 25 buses to operate 620 trips across the new and extended services. The network is intended to address the last-mile gap for passengers travelling between homes, employment hubs, residential societies and Metro Line 3 stations.

Among the new services, Metro Shuttle No. 31 will connect Pimpri Metro Station with Wakad Chowk Metro Station. Metro Shuttle No. 41 will operate between Maan MIDC Circle Phase 2 Metro Station and locations including Nilsoft Company and Infosys Phase 3. Other routes will link areas such as Lavale Phata, Blue Ridge Society, Girme Park, Embassy TechZone Parking and Joyvilla Society with metro stations.

PMPML has also extended Metro Shuttle No. 50, which previously operated between MITCON Metro Station in Balewadi and Chandegaon. The extension is intended to bring additional residential and commercial areas within reach of the metro network.

The 22 new bus stops have been placed near Metro Line 3 stations. Locations identified by PMPML include TCS/Maan, Maan MIDC Circle Phase 2, Maan Bus Depot, Hinjawadi Phase 1 and Phase 2 Circle, Wipro Circle, Padmabhushan Chowk, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and Wakad Chowk.

Additional stops cover the corridor around Sports Complex Mahalunge, MITCON Balewadi, R.K. Laxman Sai Chowk, Balewadi High Street, Balewadi Phata, Baner Gaon, Baner Phata-Aundh, Sakalnagar, Savitribai Phule Pune University, RBI Bank, Agriculture College and Shivajinagar Metro Station.

The feeder services expand PMPML’s earlier efforts to connect metro stations across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Their operational role is particularly significant along Line 3, where the corridor links major residential, industrial, commercial and information technology zones but depends on convenient surface transport for passengers travelling to and from stations.

PMPML has urged commuters to use the new feeder services. The routes, scheduled trips and stop locations will determine how effectively the metro line is integrated with the existing bus network in daily operations.
