Mulugu to Get Modern Bus Station Soon

The Telangana government has initiated construction of a hi-tech bus station in Mulugu district headquarters, fulfilling a decades-long public demand for modern transport facilities in the region.

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, accompanied by Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka, laid the foundation stone for the project on Sunday. The bus station will be built at an estimated cost of ₹4.8 crore and is expected to significantly improve passenger amenities and connectivity for residents of the tribal-dominated district. Speaking to the media at the event, Prabhakar stated that the Congress-led government is committed to upgrading transport infrastructure, particularly in agency and remote areas. “The aspirations of the people are now being realised. This modern bus station will stand as proof of our promise to bring development to every corner of Telangana,” he said.

The facility is expected to include advanced passenger amenities, improved logistics for buses, and digital services for smoother operations. Officials said the project is part of a larger initiative to enhance public transport infrastructure across underserved districts and improve regional connectivity. The move has been welcomed by locals, who have long requested upgraded facilities in the area. The new bus station is likely to ease travel for commuters and improve access to interior parts of the district.

Construction work is expected to begin shortly and the government has pledged timely completion of the project.
