MHADA Konkan Board lottery applicants may soon get access to about 1,000 homes priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 42 lakh, with the draw expected to be held in November. The offering will include around 550 homes made available under the 20% inclusive housing scheme and another 450 homes from the Konkan Board’s own housing scheme.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority’s Konkan Board is preparing to publish an advertisement for the lottery within a month, according to information provided by Konkan Board chief officer Dr Vishal Rathod. The board’s marketing department is working on the advertisement, which will provide details of the homes and the application process.
The 20% housing scheme covers homes developed in private projects and made available for affordable housing. Around 550 such homes had been received by the Konkan Board by August 12. These units will be included in what is expected to be the final Konkan Board lottery for homes under the scheme.
The draw will combine the 550 homes from the 20% scheme with approximately 450 homes from the Konkan Board housing scheme. Together, the two categories are expected to offer about 1,000 homes in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with prices ranging from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 42 lakh, according to the report.
The Konkan Board had earlier announced a larger lottery involving about 8,000 homes. That plan was expected to include approximately 5,500 homes from the 20% scheme. However, the state government subsequently transferred the scheme from MHADA to municipal corporations. As a result, MHADA’s divisional boards can conduct lotteries only for homes that became available before August 12.
The Konkan Board received about 550 homes before that cut-off date and has decided to include them in the forthcoming draw. No further Konkan Board lottery is expected for homes becoming available under the 20% inclusive housing scheme after the transfer of responsibility to municipal corporations.
The announcement comes after the Mumbai Board recently conducted a lottery for 2,640 homes. Applicants waiting for the Konkan Board’s offering will have to wait for the formal advertisement for information on eligibility, locations, application dates and other conditions. The report identifies Chitalsar-Manpada in Thane among the locations associated with the housing offering, including about 450 homes in the overall draw.
The advertisement is expected to be released within a month, while the lottery is scheduled for November. Further details on the application process and the final list of homes will be issued by the Konkan Board through the formal notice.
