Hyderabad Unveils India’s Largest Digital OOH Screen

Hyderabad has added a major digital advertising installation to its commercial landscape, with an L-shaped display spanning more than 586 square metres at SAS iTower in Nanakramguda. The 8K-capable screen introduces large-format anamorphic advertising to the city at an unprecedented scale, reflecting the growing role of digital infrastructure in Hyderabad’s commercial districts.

The installation uses Absen A25 LED panels and supports deep-perspective anamorphic content, a visual technique that creates the impression of three-dimensional objects emerging from the screen without requiring viewers to wear special glasses. Its scale is substantially larger than conventional outdoor advertising formats used across Indian cities. The development comes as digital out-of-home advertising, or DOOH, becomes more technology-driven. Unlike traditional static billboards, digital displays can change content remotely and support multiple campaigns on the same physical infrastructure. This gives advertisers greater flexibility while allowing commercial districts to use a single location for different messages throughout the day. For Hyderabad, the installation also reflects the changing character of its western business corridor. Nanakramguda has developed into a major concentration of offices, commercial properties and high-density activity. Large digital installations can increase the visibility of these districts while becoming part of the visual identity of rapidly developing urban areas.

The business case for such infrastructure is closely linked to footfall, road traffic and the concentration of potential consumers. Real estate, automotive, financial services, jewellery and hospitality businesses are among the sectors that can use large-format digital advertising to reach audiences travelling through high-visibility corridors. The expansion of premium DOOH infrastructure also raises questions about how cities manage the visual environment. Large illuminated screens consume electricity and can contribute to visual clutter if poorly integrated with surrounding architecture. As digital advertising expands, local planning frameworks may need to consider brightness, operating hours, energy efficiency, placement and road-safety implications alongside commercial value. Energy performance will become increasingly relevant as display sizes grow. More efficient LED technology, responsible operating schedules and renewable-energy integration could help reduce the environmental footprint of large digital installations.

The Hyderabad screen is part of a wider expansion by its operator, which currently has installations across six Indian cities and plans to enter Gurugram later this year. The company has reported more than Rs 1 crore in business during its first year of operations, indicating growing commercial interest in immersive outdoor formats. For Hyderabad’s built environment, the development marks another intersection between technology, advertising and real estate. As commercial districts continue to evolve, the challenge will be to ensure that new digital infrastructure adds economic value without compromising energy efficiency, public safety or the visual quality of the city.
