Hyderabad is preparing for a major transport infrastructure upgrade in its southern growth corridor, with plans advancing for a six-lane grade-separated roadway designed to improve connectivity and reduce congestion on one of the city’s busiest commuter routes.
The proposed project will connect key junctions along the Mailardevpally, Shamshabad Road and Kattedan corridor, an area that serves as a vital gateway between central Hyderabad, expanding residential neighbourhoods, industrial zones and the city’s international airport. Civic authorities have begun the process of appointing a project management consultant to oversee implementation, signalling the transition from planning to execution. The initiative is being pursued under the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) programme, which focuses on improving mobility across high-traffic urban corridors.
