Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved 13 water, sewerage and public infrastructure projects worth Rs 399.8 crore across the state, including a 100 MLD automated water treatment plant in Gurugram and trenchless repairs for operational sewer lines. The approvals were made at meetings of the High Powered Purchase Committee and High Powered Works Purchase Committee on Wednesday.
The projects were approved against an estimated cost of Rs 419.34 crore, resulting in reported savings of Rs 19.5 crore. The package covers drinking water infrastructure, sewerage networks, roads and other public works in districts and towns including Gurugram, Rohtak, Ambala, Hisar, Panchkula, Nuh, Karnal, Jind and Charkhi Dadri.
The largest water-related approval is Rs 49.5 crore for a 100 MLD automated water treatment plant at Chandu Budhera in Gurugram. The state also approved Rs 48.25 crore for damaged sewer networks in Rohtak and Rs 48 crore for sewer lines, a drinking water pipeline and a 3 MLD sewage treatment plant in Shahzadpur, Ambala.
Haryana will use Cured-in-Place Pipe, or CIPP, technology to repair operational sewer lines without excavating roads. The method is intended to reduce the need for road cutting during sewer repairs and limit disruption to traffic while work is carried out. The state also plans to lay reinforced cement concrete floors at waterworks and boosting stations across Haryana to prevent water seepage.
Other approved water and sewerage works include Rs 42.5 crore for Dhanori, Rs 54 crore for Kamri village, Rs 33.9 crore for Hisar, Rs 31.5 crore for Ratia, Rs 25.5 crore for Mahendragarh, Rs 24 crore for Jagadhri and Rs 17.9 crore for Ghasera village in Nuh. The approvals cover a mix of sewerage networks, water supply infrastructure and related treatment works.
The committee also cleared Rs 58.5 crore for a Public Health Engineering Department office building and Rs 34.3 crore for two stormwater drains in Panchkula. A Rs 30.8-crore project was approved to upgrade the Gurugram-Pataudi Road link to Dwarka Expressway, while a convention centre with a 50-room hotel at IMC Sohna received approval for Rs 51 crore.
The wider package includes a Rs 29.9-crore rest house in Karnal, a Rs 54.5-crore academic block at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University in Jind, a Rs 14.5-crore Scheduled Caste hostel at Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, and an Rs 11.6-crore sports stadium with a synthetic track in Charkhi Dadri.
