Traffic diversions have been announced across Noida and Greater Noida for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Greater Noida on Sunday, with commuters advised to check alternate routes before travelling. The diversions will affect vehicles using the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, DND Flyway, Film City, Kalindi Kunj, Pari Chowk and the Yamuna Expressway approaches.
According to Navbharat Times – Noida, the chief minister is scheduled to reach Greater Noida at around 3 pm. He is expected to address young people and women at Gautam Buddha University and review preparations for the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show. The Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate Police has prepared the route plan in response to the visit.
Vehicles travelling from Noida towards Pari Chowk and Zero Point through the Chilla Red Light, Mahamaya Flyover and the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be diverted before the DND Flyway. Police will send these vehicles towards Rajnigandha through a cut near the flyway. From there, commuters can use Rajnigandha Chowk, Sector 18, the Sector 37 underpass, the Bhangel elevated road, Kulesara and Surajpur to reach their destinations.
Vehicles travelling from Film City and the DND toll area towards Greater Noida through the expressway will be directed from the Film City Flyover towards Sector 18. They will then be able to continue through the Sector 18 underpass and the elevated route.
Traffic approaching the expressway from Kalindi Kunj and Sector 37 will be diverted from the Sector 44 roundabout. The alternate route will use the double service road, Hajipur, Sector 93, Eldeco Chowk, the NSEZ intersection, Kulesara and Surajpur.
Vehicles arriving from Hajipur and Sector 82 will be diverted from the Sector 93 cut towards Sectors 93 and 92. They will then be directed through Phase 2 and the DSC Road. The arrangement is intended to keep traffic moving through alternate urban corridors while access to routes connected with the chief minister’s programme is regulated.
Changes will also apply to vehicles travelling from Greater Noida towards Noida. Vehicles coming from Pari Chowk will be diverted towards the Surajpur intersection. From there, they can proceed through Kulesara, Phase 2 and the Bhangel elevated road.
Vehicles entering Noida after descending from the Yamuna Expressway at Zero Point will also be directed towards Pari Chowk. They will then follow the same alternate route through Surajpur, Kulesara, Phase 2 and the Bhangel elevated road.
The diversion plan covers several high-volume connections between residential sectors, industrial areas, expressways and the Delhi border. Commuters using these corridors on the day of the visit will need to allow for route changes and follow directions issued by traffic police at the diversion points. The police plan will remain relevant during the chief minister’s scheduled programme and movement through Greater Noida.
