A student suffered minor injuries after an Alto car hit four people outside GNIOT College in Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park area on September 18, with police later arresting the alleged driver and recovering the vehicle, according to the report and police statements cited in it.
The incident took place in the area under the Knowledge Park police station, where the car allegedly struck students walking along the roadside before the driver fled. Video of the collision circulated on social media and showed the vehicle moving into the group of pedestrians, after which several students fell on the road.
Police said the car had a Uttar Pradesh registration and that the driver was travelling at high speed and driving negligently when the collision occurred. One student sustained minor injuries to the leg and was discharged after receiving first aid at a hospital.
Following the circulation of the video, police began searching for the driver. The alleged accused was subsequently arrested, and the Alto car was recovered. The report identified the accused as a property dealer.
Knowledge Park is home to several colleges and student-focused facilities, making pedestrian movement around institutional campuses a regular feature of the area. The reported collision has again drawn attention to the risks faced by students walking near busy roads and access points, although the supplied report does not provide details about the road’s speed limits, pedestrian infrastructure, traffic enforcement or whether the college entrance had designated crossing facilities.

The Greater Noida incident comes shortly after a separate hit-and-run case reported on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road. In that incident, a speeding car allegedly hit a woman riding a motorcycle before the driver and other occupants left the scene. The woman was not injured, although her motorcycle was dragged along the road after the collision. A Gurugram court later sent two accused individuals, Kalyan Bainsla and his cousin Lavneesh, to 14 days of judicial custody, according to the report.
The Greater Noida case will now proceed through the police investigation and legal process. The accused’s arrest is not a determination of guilt, which will be established through the judicial process.
