Dudu Solar Plant Fire Extinguished After Overnight Battle, No Casualties

A major fire at Grew Solar’s plant in Dudu was extinguished Saturday morning after more than 20 fire engines battled the blaze through the night, with all employees evacuated safely and no casualties reported.

The fire broke out at around 6pm on Friday and spread rapidly across the facility. Huge flames were visible from nearly a kilometre away, while thick black smoke spread over the area, triggering panic along the Jaipur-Ajmer highway and in nearby localities.

Dudu Additional Superintendent of Police Shiv Lal said fire tenders from different areas were deployed to control the blaze. The firefighting operation continued overnight, with crews repeatedly sending engines to replenish their water supplies before returning to the plant.

Officials said the size of the fire and the speed at which it spread made the response difficult. The incident required sustained deployment of emergency vehicles and coordination between fire crews operating from different areas.

Grew Solar said its internal safety team responded promptly after the fire began and that employees were evacuated from the premises. In a statement, the company said the safety of its workforce remained its priority and that it was cooperating with authorities in assessing the incident and conducting an investigation.

A short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire, but the cause has not been established. Grew Solar said the cause would be determined after a thorough investigation, keeping the preliminary explanation separate from the confirmed findings.

The extent of damage to the plant and the company’s losses was not immediately known. Officials said a detailed inspection would be carried out after the blaze was fully extinguished to assess the damage and establish how the fire started.

The incident places attention on the safety and emergency-response requirements of large industrial facilities located near highways and populated areas. In this case, the absence of casualties was linked to the safe evacuation of employees, while the final assessment will depend on the official inspection and investigation now expected to follow.
