The Delhi Development Authority is preparing to launch a new housing scheme with more than 4,000 flats in Narela and other parts of Delhi around the Dussehra-Diwali festive season, offering one-, two- and three-bedroom homes to prospective buyers.
According to DDA officials cited in the report, the scheme is being planned for October-November. The authority is also expected to appoint nodal officers for the programme, although it has not yet announced the final launch date, flat prices, booking conditions or the complete list of locations.
The proposed inventory will cover multiple housing categories, allowing buyers from different income groups to consider apartments within the same scheme. Narela is expected to be the main location, continuing the DDA’s housing activity in the area, where flats have also been offered under existing schemes.
The DDA is separately considering extending the booking period for its Karmayogi Awas Yojana and Nagrik Awas Yojana by about one month. The current booking window for both schemes is scheduled to close at the end of September, and buyers are presently being offered a 25 per cent discount, according to the report.
The Karmayogi Awas Yojana includes one- and two-bedroom flats in Narela’s Pocket 6, Pocket 9 and Pocket 13, as well as Sectors A-1 to A-4. Eligibility under this scheme is limited to serving and retired government employees.
Under the Nagrik Awas Yojana, the DDA is offering 616 middle-income group flats, classified as two-bedroom homes, and 567 high-income group flats in Narela’s Pocket 3 and Pocket 4 and Sectors A-1 to A-4. The proposed extension would give potential applicants additional time to complete bookings if the authority formally approves it.
The new scheme comes as the DDA continues to use housing launches and discounts to sell apartments in parts of Delhi where inventory has remained available across different income categories. The final public response, however, will depend on the location, size, pricing and payment conditions announced by the authority.
The DDA has not yet issued the final schedule or detailed terms for the upcoming scheme. Prospective buyers will need to wait for the authority’s formal notification before making applications or treating the proposed October-November launch as confirmed.
