The Ahmedabad Metro experienced an unprecedented surge during the concert. Over the two days, a record-breaking 405,264 passengers utilized the service, surpassing previous records set during major sporting events. To accommodate the influx, the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) increased train frequency to every eight minutes and extended operating hours until 12:30 AM. This operational efficiency not only facilitated smooth transit for concertgoers but also generated significant revenue, with earnings of ₹66 lakh over the two days.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport handled a substantial increase in passenger traffic during the event. Over the three-day period, the airport processed approximately 900 flights, nearly double the usual number. This surge in air traffic underscored the importance of robust airport infrastructure and efficient management to handle peak loads. The concert also had a notable impact on Ahmedabad’s hospitality sector. Hotel room rates soared to ₹50,000–₹90,000 within 48 hours of the concert announcement, reflecting high demand. Additionally, the influx of visitors boosted local tourism, with many attendees exploring the city’s cultural landmarks and cuisine. This economic activity contributed significantly to the local economy, benefiting hotels, restaurants, and other service providers.
The large-scale event also posed challenges in waste management. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) deployed 492 sanitation workers, 14 JCB machines, and 27 trucks to manage the cleanup. Over 1,500 tons of waste were cleared within 48 hours, demonstrating the city’s capacity to handle post-event waste efficiently. Ensuring the safety and security of attendees was paramount. Over 1,800 police personnel were deployed, supported by 470 CCTV cameras and two dedicated control rooms. This comprehensive security framework ensured a safe environment for all participants and highlighted the city’s preparedness for large-scale events.
