Bengaluru traffic police have imposed temporary movement and parking restrictions around Veerapillai Road in the Shivajinagar traffic police station limits for a Ganesha idol installation. The diversion will remain in force until September 27, according to a report by Prajavani.
Traffic has been temporarily prohibited on Veerapillai Road and on the route from Vithoba Temple towards Nagamma Temple for all types of vehicles. The restrictions are intended to manage movement around the installation site.
Vehicles travelling from Dickinson Junction towards Pulakeshinagar and Banaswadi, except heavy goods vehicles, have been directed to continue straight on Kamaraj Road. They must then turn right near Sangam Cross Road and take a left onto St John’s Road before proceeding towards Pulakeshinagar and Banaswadi.
Vehicles travelling from Alice Junction towards Pulakeshinagar and Banaswadi have been asked to continue through Dickinson Road. They must take a left near Blue-Stone and use St John’s Road to reach the two destinations.
The traffic arrangement also prohibits parking for all vehicle types on St John’s Road, Kamaraj Road and Veerapillai Road during the period of the diversion. Commuters using the Shivajinagar, Dickinson Junction, Alice Junction, Pulakeshinagar and Banaswadi corridors will need to follow the designated alternative routes.
The restrictions are scheduled to continue through September 27. Traffic movement will return to the affected roads after the temporary arrangement ends, subject to further directions from the traffic police.
