Karnataka Final Voters List Published With 4.54 Crore Names

The Election Commission has published Karnataka’s final voters list after completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, with 45,455,689 names included in the roll, according to a report by Prajavani. The figure represents about 4.54 crore voters across the state.

The final roll includes 22,540,493 male voters, 22,912,355 female voters and 2,841 voters from the transgender community. The component figures add up to 45,455,689 voters. The published report contains an apparent formatting error in the total, describing the figure as 4,54,55,689 crore, but the detailed numbers indicate a total of 45,455,689 voters.

The Election Commission issued the notification for the SIR process in Karnataka on June 16. The electoral roll that was in force at the time, identified in the report as the 2025 voters list, was frozen for the revision exercise.

During the first stage, 1.08 crore voters were kept out of the draft electoral roll under the ASD category. The category covers voters who were untraced, had shifted residence, were deceased, were registered in more than one place or fell into other specified classifications.

The draft voters list published on August 24 contained 4.46 crore names. The final roll therefore includes additional names compared with the draft list after the revision process was completed, although the supplied report does not provide a district-wise or category-wise explanation of the changes between the draft and final rolls.

The publication of the final list is an important administrative milestone because the electoral roll determines which residents are formally registered to vote and where they are assigned within the election system. The numbers also show a slightly higher count of female voters than male voters in the final statewide roll.

The Election Commission’s stated process has moved from freezing the existing list, through scrutiny and publication of a draft roll, to issuing the final list. The report does not specify a separate deadline or procedure for further corrections, claims or objections after the final publication.
