Agra Teachers Constituency Repoll Records 57.16% Turnout Across Three Booths

The Agra Teachers constituency repoll recorded 57.16% voter turnout across three polling stations in Uttar Pradesh on October 26, completing the fresh voting exercise ordered after the Election Commission of India declared the earlier polling at these booths null and void.

Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer Navdeep Rinwa said the repoll was conducted peacefully and fairly at all three polling stations. According to figures received from the returning officers, voters exercised their franchise at each of the affected centres without any reported disruption.

Polling station number 20 at the tehsil campus in Kheragarh recorded the lowest turnout among the three booths, at 51.60%. Polling station number 21 at the Kshetra Panchayat office in Saiyan registered a turnout of 58.23%.

The highest participation was reported from polling station number 26 at the Kshetra Panchayat office in Fatehabad, where turnout reached 58.65%. Fatehabad was followed by Saiyan and Kheragarh in voter participation across the three polling stations.

The Election Commission had ordered fresh voting after declaring the polling held at the three stations on October 23 null and void. The repoll was therefore conducted specifically at the affected locations rather than across the entire Agra Teachers constituency.

Rinwa said the necessary arrangements were made to ensure that the fresh voting remained peaceful, transparent and fair. The CEO also said the entire exercise was completed smoothly, with voters participating at all three polling stations.

The turnout figures provide the final reported participation levels for the repolling exercise at the three affected booths. With the fresh voting completed, the polling process ordered by the Election Commission for these stations has concluded.
