Ahmedabad school bomb threats prompted the evacuation of Narayan Guru School in Satellite and Podar International School in Chandkheda on Tuesday after the institutions received threatening emails, according to Nav Gujarat Samay. Police, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), the Crime Branch and sniffer-dog teams searched the campuses as parents arrived to take their children home.
The threats were sent by email to the two schools and some other institutions in Ahmedabad’s western areas, the report said. School authorities informed the police and local administration as soon as the messages were received and moved students out of classrooms as a precautionary measure.
Parents rushed to the campuses after learning about the threats. Students were handed over to their families and taken home, while the school premises were cleared for security checks. The incident created fear among parents and school staff, with authorities urging residents not to rely on rumours.
Teams from Ahmedabad Police, the BDDS, the Crime Branch and the sniffer-dog unit examined the school premises, classrooms and parking areas. The checks were conducted to establish whether there was any physical threat inside the campuses after the emails were received.
The report said Ahmedabad had previously received similar hoax threats. This prompted the Cyber Crime Branch to begin a technical investigation into the messages, including efforts to determine their origin and the IP addresses from which they were sent.
The latest incident places schools and law-enforcement agencies under pressure to respond quickly to digitally delivered threats while preventing panic among families. For school administrations, the immediate response involves notifying authorities, evacuating students and managing parent communication before security teams complete their checks.
Police appealed to parents and citizens to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information. The Cyber Crime Branch’s technical investigation into the threatening emails remains underway, while security agencies continue to assess the messages and the affected school premises.
