The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has successfully cleared 14 hotspots in Andheri West. This action follows a collaborative effort between the Advanced Locality Management (ALM) and civic officials aimed at ensuring these areas remain free from unauthorized vendors. The newly cleared locations include prominent areas such as SV Road, the Andheri station vicinity, CD Barfiwala Road, and N Datta Approach Road, among others.
The decision to clear these sites comes as part of a broader strategy to curb illegal hawking and enhance public space management in the bustling locality of Andheri West. The initiative was formalised after a joint meeting between ALM representatives and BMC officials. During the meeting, citizens voiced their concerns and requested sustained action to address the issue of illegal hawkers.
