Ghaziabad’s Trishul Park, being developed beneath the Namo Bharat corridor at Meerut Tiraha, is expected to open to the public in the first week of next month, according to the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation. The new public space is being built beside the Namo Bharat station and the Delhi–Meerut Road, a high-traffic location used by commuters and visitors to the city.
The municipal corporation has already installed a 17-foot-tall trident at the site. Grass, plants and decorative lighting are expected to be added shortly, according to the report. The civic body plans to use the park as a landscaped public space where passengers leaving the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station can walk and spend time.
Vikramaditya Singh Malik, Ghaziabad’s municipal commissioner, said the park was being constructed at Meerut Tiraha and would be completed by next month. He described the large trident as the main attraction of the site.
The location gives the project a dual role in the city’s public realm. It is positioned below an elevated transit corridor and next to a major road junction, making it visible to daily passengers and road users. The corporation’s stated plan is to combine landscaping, lighting and a prominent civic installation at a point where large numbers of people enter and leave the transport network.
The park is also being planned as a facility for the annual Kanwar pilgrimage along Meerut Road. During the Sawan season, large numbers of Kanwar pilgrims travel through the corridor, and the civic administration arranges flower showers for them. According to the report, a platform will be prepared inside the park so that flower showers can be conducted from the site during the pilgrimage.
The project forms part of a wider effort by the Ghaziabad civic administration to add cultural and visual elements to prominent transport corridors. The corporation has renamed the elevated road as Ramsetu and is carrying out beautification work near its entrance, where a bow-and-arrow installation representing Lord Ram has been placed. The report said the work around that installation is also under way.
For Namo Bharat passengers, the park will be located immediately outside the Ghaziabad station area. The municipal corporation has said visitors will be able to walk through the space and take photographs beside the trident once construction is complete. However, the supplied information does not specify the park’s total area, project cost, maintenance arrangements or the facilities planned for visitors beyond landscaping and lighting.
