The Greater Bengaluru Authority’s chief commissioner has instructed officials to expedite the remaining works on the Ejipura buffer road. The direction follows an inspection of infrastructure projects and reflects efforts to move delayed works towards completion. The corridor is important for local traffic because it provides an alternative connection within a densely developed part of south Bengaluru. Improving the route could reduce pressure on nearby roads and provide residents with another option for shorter journeys. However, road projects in established neighbourhoods are rarely only about laying asphalt. Construction has to account for drainage, utility networks, pedestrian movement and access to homes and businesses. Delays in coordinating these elements can extend project timelines and increase disruption for surrounding communities. The Ejipura area also illustrates the challenge of upgrading infrastructure in built-up parts of Bengaluru.
