Zudio Reaches 1,000 Stores, Deepening Trent’s Urban Retail Reach

Zudio, the value-fashion retail chain operated by Tata Group company Trent Ltd, has crossed 1,000 stores in India, marking a rapid expansion across more than 300 cities in the decade since its launch in 2016.

Trent disclosed the milestone in a regulatory filing, saying Zudio has served more than 100 million customers over the past 10 years. The chain’s growth has been built around affordable fashion offerings and a widening physical-store network in markets across the country.

The 1,000-store threshold places Zudio among India’s largest organised fashion retail networks by store count. Its presence across more than 300 cities also gives Trent a broad commercial footprint beyond the largest metropolitan markets, although the filing does not provide a city-wise breakdown of stores or customer numbers.

Trent operates Zudio alongside Westside, its large-format fashion retail business, and Star, its grocery business. The company also runs other lifestyle concepts, giving it exposure to multiple segments of India’s expanding organised retail market.

As of June 30, 2026, Trent’s store portfolio included 301 Westside outlets and 29 stores across other lifestyle concepts. Across its fashion brands, the company operated a footprint of more than 18 million square feet. The figures provide a wider measure of the physical commercial space supporting Trent’s retail operations, although the company did not separately disclose the floor area occupied by Zudio in the filing cited by the report.

The expansion has made Zudio an increasingly visible part of the retail landscape in Indian cities. Its stores add to the network of organised commercial outlets available to consumers, while the chain’s value-fashion positioning is designed to support high-volume retail across different urban markets. The announcement, however, does not detail the number of employees, store formats, lease arrangements or investments associated with the expansion.

Trent reported revenue of ₹19,701.41 crore in FY26. The company’s disclosure did not state how much of that revenue came specifically from Zudio, Westside, Star or its other businesses. It also did not announce a new store-opening target or provide a fresh timeline for the next phase of Zudio’s expansion.

The 1,000-store milestone therefore records the scale Zudio has achieved since 2016, while the company’s future store plans, city-level distribution and financial contribution from the chain remain to be detailed in subsequent disclosures.
