Yuva Dasara Mysuru Stage Ready as Five-Day Concerts Begin

The Yuva Dasara Mysuru celebrations will be held from October 13 to 17 at Uttanahalli on the outskirts of the city, with organisers preparing a 14-acre event site, a large concert stage, expanded security arrangements and more than 100 food stalls.

The five-day programme will be inaugurated at 6.30 pm on October 13 by actor Prabhu Deva. Karnataka Minister in charge of Mysuru district, Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah, will attend as the chief guest, while MLA G.T. Devegowda will preside over the opening ceremony, organisers said at a press conference.

The opening evening will feature a music programme by composer Ajaneesh Loknath’s team. The schedule includes Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy on October 14, singer Sid Sriram on October 15, and a Sandalwood night on October 16 featuring actors including Shivarajkumar and Rachita Ram. Singer Jasmine Sandlas is scheduled to perform on October 17.

Organisers said an 80-by-60-foot stage has been constructed at the venue. The event will use a d&b audiotechnik sound system based on German technology, a DiGiCo Quantum mixer, advanced lighting and laser systems. The arrangements are intended to provide sound and lighting facilities for large-scale music performances, they said.

The event is expected to draw large crowds, prompting the deployment of police personnel and other security units. The Karnataka State Reserve Police, District Armed Reserve, Quick Reaction Teams and home guards will be assigned to the venue. Organisers also said drones and closed-circuit television cameras would be used for surveillance, with safety, traffic movement and orderly management listed as priorities.

An 187-member non-official committee has been formed under the Yuva Dasara subcommittee, with Rayarahundi Ravi appointed as its chairperson. Organisers said the festival is intended to bring youth talent, music, art, culture and entertainment together on one platform while supporting tourism and economic activity in Mysuru.

A food festival with more than 100 stalls will also be held at the venue. It will offer South Indian and North Indian dishes. The organisers further released a Yuva Dasara album song written by Somasekhar G.S. and Manoj Saugandh, with music composed by Ajaneesh Loknath.

The next public milestone is the inauguration of the festival on October 13, when the five-day concert and entertainment programme will begin at Uttanahalli.
