Tirupati MP Clears ₹12.5 Lakh Water Project for 175 Families

Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumoorthy has sanctioned ₹12.50 lakh from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development funds to provide drinking water to 175 families at Pudi Kuppam, a remote village under Pudi panchayat in Andhra Pradesh’s Tada mandal.

The families are from Kuppam village under Irakam panchayat and were recently allotted house-site pattas at Pudi Kuppam. The sanctioned amount will fund the drilling of a borewell, installation of a motor and laying of pipelines to supply water to the settlement.

The funds were sanctioned after a request from former MLA and YSRC Sullurpeta constituency coordinator Kiliveti Sanjeevaiah, according to a report by Deccan Chronicle. Local residents said the borewell had already been drilled and that preparations were under way to install the motor.

Gurumoorthy directed officials to expedite the pipeline work and ensure an uninterrupted drinking water supply for the residents. The project’s immediate focus is to connect the newly established housing-site settlement to a functioning local water source.

The development highlights the infrastructure requirements that can follow the allocation of house sites in remote settlements. In this case, the families at Pudi Kuppam require not only residential plots but also basic services, including a borewell, pumping equipment and a pipeline network.

Residents thanked Gurumoorthy, Sanjeevaiah and Tada mandal YSRC convener Armugam for their efforts to address the drinking water problem. The next operational step is the installation of the motor and completion of pipeline works so that the facility can begin supplying water to the 175 families.
