Telangana Voter List Gives 73 Lakh ASDD Electors a Second Chance

Telangana voter list authorities will launch a fresh outreach drive for 73,39,235 electors marked as Absent, Shifted, Dead or Duplicate during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, giving eligible voters another opportunity to seek inclusion before the final rolls are published on November 30.

Booth Level Officers will contact electors in the ASDD category through their registered mobile numbers or by visiting their homes. They will provide fresh enumeration forms and assist eligible applicants with the process of restoring their names to the final electoral roll.

The outreach follows a significant gap between Telangana’s voter count before the revision and the number of enumeration forms submitted. The State had 3,38,26,448 voters before the Special Intensive Revision began, while 2,64,87,213 electors submitted enumeration forms. The remaining 73,39,235 electors were placed in the ASDD category after failing to submit the forms.

Booth-wise lists of ASDD electors, along with the reasons for their exclusion, will be displayed at the respective polling stations and designated government offices. The lists will also be uploaded on the Chief Electoral Officer’s website at ceotelangana.nic.in, allowing voters to check their status and identify the reason recorded against their names.

Electors who have not shifted residence can submit the completed enumeration form along with an explanation for why they could not submit it earlier. Those who have shifted within Telangana will not need to file Form-8 for an address change. Instead, they must submit the enumeration form with a statement providing their new address, Assembly constituency and address proof.

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharsan Reddy told Telangana Today that only electors categorised as ASDD would be eligible to apply under this opportunity. He said officials estimated that nearly six lakh ASDD electors had already filed Form-6 applications and expected another one lakh or two lakh voters to apply after the Election Commission of India provided the additional opportunity.

The exercise places responsibility on both the election machinery and voters to resolve exclusions before the final publication date. For the authorities, the immediate task is to identify and contact electors using booth-level records and available mobile numbers. For voters, the process requires checking the published lists, obtaining the fresh form and submitting the required explanation or address details within the revision schedule.

The notice phase and the disposal of claims and objections under the Special Intensive Revision are scheduled to conclude on November 26. The final electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on November 30.
