Telangana Electronics Manufacturing Gets Rs 200 Crore Boost in Hyderabad

Telangana has taken another step towards building an electronics manufacturing base with the inauguration of a new Rs 200 crore facility at E-City in Tukkuguda, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said the State government was prioritising manufacturing as it seeks to attract companies across the electronics value chain.

The facility has been established by Aavishkaran Industries Private Limited for Hyderabad-based consumer electronics company Mivi. Inaugurating the plant, Sridhar Babu said Telangana aimed to emerge as one of India’s leading electronics manufacturing destinations by strengthening its industrial ecosystem around technology, innovation and production.

According to the Minister, Telangana’s manufacturing sector grew by 7.7 per cent during 2025–26 and contributed Rs 1.37 lakh crore to the State’s Gross State Value Added. The figures were cited as evidence of the sector’s growing contribution to the State economy, although the report did not provide a further breakdown for electronics manufacturing or the new facility’s expected output.

The government’s stated plan extends beyond assembly and finished consumer products. Sridhar Babu said Telangana was working to expand its presence in chip design, semiconductor manufacturing and electronic component production. The State also intends to attract businesses covering the full electronics value chain, from research and product design to component manufacturing and finished goods.

The Minister said the Telangana Rising–2047 vision included efforts to strengthen electronics manufacturing clusters and hardware parks. The government was also seeking to connect local industries with global supply chains, an approach that would place the new facility within a broader industrial development strategy rather than treat it as an isolated investment.

Mivi currently manufactures audio products such as earbuds, headphones, speakers and soundbars. With the launch of its Mivi One 5G smartphone, the company has also entered smartphone manufacturing. The new facility therefore adds to the company’s production footprint while aligning with the State’s effort to expand local electronics manufacturing.

The announcement is significant for Hyderabad’s industrial geography because E-City, Tukkuguda, is being positioned as a location for advanced manufacturing activity. The report, however, did not specify the facility’s production capacity, employment generation, operational timeline or the number of additional companies expected to join the proposed clusters and hardware parks.

For the State government, the next phase will involve translating the electronics strategy into a wider industrial ecosystem, including component production, design capabilities and supply-chain integration. The government’s stated objective is to develop these capabilities under the Telangana Rising–2047 vision.
