Northeast Frontier Railway will operate three pairs of unreserved special trains between Agartala, Sabroom and Dharmanagar from November 8 to 10 to support devotees travelling to Tripureswari temple in Udaipur, Gomati district, during Diwali.
The first Agartala-Sabroom service will leave Agartala at 7.30 pm on November 8 and reach Sabroom at 10.05 pm. Its return service will depart Sabroom at 10.35 pm and arrive in Agartala at 1.20 am.
A second special service will operate between Agartala and Dharmanagar on November 9 and 10. The train will leave Agartala at 5.10 am and reach Dharmanagar at 8.45 am. The return service will depart Dharmanagar at 9.30 am and arrive in Agartala at 1.20 pm.
The railway will also run an additional Agartala-Sabroom service on November 9 and 10. It will depart Agartala at 2.15 pm and return from Sabroom at 5 pm, reaching Agartala at 7.35 pm.
The services are unreserved, allowing passengers to travel without advance seat reservations. The additional operations are intended for devotees travelling to Tripureswari temple, one of the stated destinations for the Diwali pilgrimage movement in the region.
The Dharmanagar service and the additional Agartala-Sabroom service will each have 14 Linke Hofmann Busch coaches. Their composition will include 12 general second-class coaches and two coaches combining luggage, brake-van and Divyangjan facilities.
The special timetable creates additional evening connectivity on the Agartala-Sabroom route on November 8, while the November 9 and 10 services provide morning and afternoon options on the Agartala-Sabroom corridor. The Dharmanagar operation will run in the morning on both days, with the return journey scheduled before the afternoon.
For passengers travelling for the temple visit, the services provide additional rail capacity during the three-day operating window. The use of general second-class coaches and the unreserved format also indicates that the trains are intended for large-volume passenger movement rather than reserved long-distance travel.
The first service begins on November 8, with the remaining Dharmanagar and additional Sabroom operations scheduled for November 9 and 10. Northeast Frontier Railway’s announced timetable will remain in effect through the final service on November 10.
