Pune Railway Update: 3 Trains Shifted to Hadapsar Amid DCN Work

Passengers travelling to Pune by train will face temporary changes this week as Central Railway carries out a special maintenance block for Dynamic Communication Network (DCN) work at Pune Yard and along the Pune-Daund section. Three incoming long-distance trains will terminate at Hadapsar instead of Pune railway station, while one Pune-originating service will also begin its journey from Hadapsar.

Train No. 12136 Nagpur-Pune Express, scheduled to leave Nagpur on October 10, will be terminated at Hadapsar. Train No. 11406 Amravati-Pune Express will also terminate at Hadapsar on October 10. Passengers on both services will need to get down at Hadapsar and arrange onward travel to their destinations in Pune.

Train No. 11078 Jammu Tawi-Pune Express, which is scheduled to depart from Jammu Tawi on October 9, will similarly be short-terminated at Hadapsar instead of entering Pune railway station. Travellers arriving on the service will have to make arrangements for the remaining part of their journey from Hadapsar.

The changes will also affect the return operation of the Pune-Nagpur service. Train No. 12135 Pune-Nagpur Express, scheduled to depart on October 11, will originate from Hadapsar rather than Pune railway station. The service is scheduled to leave Hadapsar at 5.45 pm.

According to the report, the maintenance block has been planned to facilitate modifications to the existing track layout at Pune Yard and along the Pune-Daund section. The work is linked to DCN infrastructure, or the Dynamic Communication Network, which forms part of the railway’s communication and operational systems.

The affected services are particularly relevant to passengers travelling into Pune through the Bhusawal and Jalgaon routes. The temporary arrangement means that passengers who have booked tickets to or from Pune railway station will need to account for the change in the boarding or alighting station on the specified dates.

Hadapsar is an important railway station in Pune’s eastern urban area, but passengers transferring from there will have to complete their onward journey by other means. The operational change therefore shifts part of the travel process from the railway network to local road-based transport, making it important for passengers to allow additional time for transfers.

The maintenance block reflects the operational difficulty of carrying out railway infrastructure work in an active urban network. Track-layout modifications and communication-system upgrades require railway authorities to temporarily alter train operations so that work can be undertaken within a designated block.

Passengers travelling on the affected services have been advised to check the latest train status and revised operating arrangements before beginning their journey. The temporary changes will apply to the services scheduled on October 9, October 10 and October 11, as specified in the railway update.
