Pune Metro Adds 5 New Entry-Exit gates

To enhance commuter convenience and streamline passenger flow, Pune Metro has inaugurated five new entry and exit gates at strategic locations across five metro stations. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Chhatrapati Sambhaji Udyan, Deccan Gymkhana, Bopodi, and Kalyani Nagar are the stations benefiting from these additions.

These newly opened gates are positioned to significantly improve safety, alleviate congestion during peak hours, and ensure a smoother flow of passengers. At the PMC metro station, the new entry/exit gates 2 and 3 are situated near the river, thus eliminating the need for passengers to cross the road to access the metro footbridge. This strategic placement enhances safety and convenience for commuters.

Similarly, at the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Udyan metro station, entry/exit gates 2 and 3 are located on opposite sides of the bustling Junglee Maharaj (JM) Road. This allows passengers to use the footbridge without the risk of crossing the busy street. The Deccan Gymkhana metro station has adopted a similar approach, with entry/exit gates 2 and 3 on opposite sides of JM Road, facilitating seamless commuter movement. At Bopodi metro station, entry/exit gate number 4 has been introduced to enable commuters to access the footbridge without crossing the busy road, thereby enhancing pedestrian safety. The Kalyani Nagar metro station features entry/exit gate 3, offering the same advantage.

These strategic enhancements aim to evenly distribute passenger flow, thereby reducing congestion at the existing gates, especially during peak hours. By providing easier access to nearby landmarks and business districts, these improvements are expected to make metro travel a more attractive and convenient option for Pune’s residents and visitors.
