Pune Gains New Management Education Campus Vision

Pune is poised to strengthen its position as a national education and innovation hub after the Maharashtra government allocated land in Moshi for a new campus of the Indian Institute of Management Nagpur. The proposed development is expected to broaden access to advanced management education, strengthen industry-academia collaboration and reinforce the city’s growing role in knowledge-led urban and economic development.

The planned campus forms part of IIM Nagpur’s long-term expansion strategy aimed at creating a multi-campus academic network while enhancing research, executive education and emerging technology programmes. Officials indicated that the Pune facility will function as a full-fledged campus rather than a satellite centre, reflecting rising demand for specialised management education in western India. The state has allotted approximately 70 acres in Moshi under a long-term lease arrangement to facilitate the project. The Pune IIM campus is expected to introduce programmes tailored to these emerging industries while strengthening executive education opportunities for working professionals and corporate leaders.
