Noida Auto Market Surges as 9,000 Vehicles Line Up for Navratri

More than 9,000 vehicles are being prepared for delivery during the nine-day Navratri period in Noida and Greater Noida, as advance bookings rise ahead of the festive season. Dealers say new model launches, festive discounts and demand for deliveries on auspicious dates have pushed up bookings for both cars and two-wheelers.

Navratri will be observed from October 11 to 19, and dealerships across the twin cities are preparing to handle a sharp increase in deliveries during this period. Dealers said demand is expected to be particularly high on Navami, when many customers prefer to take vehicles home. The bookings have been made in advance so that buyers can receive their vehicles on their chosen auspicious dates.

The increase is being reported across different price segments, although vehicles priced up to Rs 10 lakh have attracted the strongest demand. Deepak Verma, general manager of sales at Sagar Motors, said five showrooms were preparing to deliver more than 800 vehicles during Navratri. He added that customers were showing the greatest interest in lower-priced cars.

According to the dealership, more than 2,000 cars from Maruti, Mahindra and other manufacturers are being prepared for delivery across the Navratri period. The figures reflect planned deliveries rather than completed registrations, with the final number dependent on the pace of delivery and registration during the festival.

Demand has also risen at Hyundai dealerships. Mohammad Imran, chief business officer at Karma Hyundai, said customers were showing strong interest in booking cars for Navratri. The company was preparing to deliver more than 150 cars from two showrooms. He said customer preferences varied according to vehicle model and price.

Two-wheeler dealerships are also expecting higher volumes during the festive period. Dealers said an average dealership could deliver between 50 and 150 vehicles during Navratri, depending on local demand and inventory. Several showrooms have increased preparations for vehicle handovers and registration to manage the expected volume.

The transport department recorded more than 8,700 vehicle registrations in Noida and Greater Noida during Navratri last year, with two-wheelers accounting for the larger share. This year, dealers said bookings and delivery preparations were higher than in the previous festive period. Some showrooms have extended their operating hours until 9 pm to manage customer visits and delivery schedules.

The expected increase in registrations will require coordination between dealerships and the Regional Transport Office. Dealers and the RTO have prepared to accelerate the registration process as the number of vehicles rises during the festival. The preparation is significant because a vehicle delivery is not complete for the buyer until the registration process and associated documentation are finished.

The market is also preparing for another demand peak after Navratri. Dealers and vehicle companies expect deliveries and sales to increase further around Dhanteras, following the end of Pitru Paksha. They have begun arranging stock and delivery schedules in anticipation of additional advance bookings during the wider festive season.

The immediate milestone for the Noida and Greater Noida automobile market will be the volume of deliveries and registrations recorded between October 11 and 19. The transport department and dealerships are expected to continue coordinating registration capacity and delivery arrangements through Navratri and the subsequent Dhanteras period.
