Indian Railways has announced a new daily mail train between Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi and Kanpur Central, adding an overnight travel option and a direct rail connection for passengers across Delhi-NCR and several cities in Uttar Pradesh.
The Kanpur Central–Anand Vihar (T)–Kanpur Central Mail will operate under train numbers 14153 and 14154, according to railway officials cited by Live Hindustan – NCR. The service will run every day in both directions.
Train 14153 will leave Kanpur Central at 8:40 pm and reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 4:50 am the following morning. In the reverse direction, train 14154 will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 11:25 pm and arrive at Kanpur Central at 7:25 am the next day.
The train will cover the 428-kilometre route from Anand Vihar Terminal to Kanpur Central in eight hours. The return journey will take approximately eight hours and 10 minutes. The service is scheduled to stop at eight stations in both directions: Phaphund, Etawah, Tundla, Hathras, Aligarh, Khurja, Dadri and Ghaziabad.
The route gives passengers in these cities an additional option for travelling to Delhi-NCR and Kanpur without changing trains at an intermediate station. The overnight schedule also allows passengers to travel outside daytime hours, with an early-morning arrival at either terminal.
The railway information places the service on an important passenger corridor linking the national capital region with Kanpur through major urban and regional centres. Ghaziabad, Dadri, Khurja, Aligarh, Hathras, Tundla, Etawah and Phaphund will receive direct stops on the route, extending the train’s utility beyond the two terminal cities.
Railway officials said the service would help improve convenient movement between Kanpur, Etawah, Aligarh, Ghaziabad and the Delhi region. The additional train is also expected to provide another travel option for passengers using the corridor, particularly those seeking overnight connectivity.
The service will begin operating according to the schedule announced by Indian Railways, with the two daily trains maintaining their respective departure and arrival timings between Anand Vihar Terminal and Kanpur Central.
