The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has filed a supplementary chargesheet in the Majithia assets case before a Mohali court, revising the alleged disproportionate assets linked to former Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia from Rs 700 crore to Rs 736 crore.
The filing, made on Wednesday, names 13 companies and individuals and adds documents concerning properties, financial transactions and income sources allegedly connected to Majithia. The matter is being heard by a special court in Mohali.
According to the report, the supplementary chargesheet examines records related to assets allegedly held or linked to the former minister and the sources of income cited in connection with them. The revised figure represents the value of assets that the bureau alleges are disproportionate to known sources of income.
The total volume of chargesheets and supporting records submitted in the case is estimated at between 52,000 and 53,000 pages. The documents cover property-related material, financial transactions and income records examined during the investigation.
The case was registered on June 25, 2025, under the Prevention of Corruption Act after an investigation report by a special investigation team. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau filed its primary chargesheet before the Mohali special court in August 2025.
The supplementary filing expands the material already placed before the court and records the bureau’s revised assessment of the alleged assets. The filing itself does not establish guilt, and the allegations will be considered through the judicial process.
The latest chargesheet places the focus on the documentation of property ownership, financial dealings and the declared or identified sources of income associated with the case. The Mohali court will now deal with the supplementary material and the additional entities and individuals named in the filing.
