L&T Lands Major Construction Orders Across Three Indian Cities

Larsen & Toubro has secured significant construction orders for residential towers in Mumbai and Bengaluru and a commercial tower in Hyderabad, expanding its current building-project portfolio across three major urban markets. The company disclosed the orders on Monday through a statement, but did not identify the client or provide the combined value of the contracts.

L&T classifies orders worth between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore as “significant”. The orders were won by its residential, commercial buildings and factories business vertical. The company also said the vertical had secured add-on orders for some of its ongoing projects.

In Mumbai, L&T will construct nine high-rise residential towers. Each tower will have one basement and 50 floors, making the project one of the larger residential developments included in the announcement. The statement did not specify the project’s location within Mumbai, the number of homes planned, the construction timeline or the identity of the client.

The Bengaluru order covers nine residential towers, each with three basements and 25 floors. The additional basement levels indicate that the development will include substantial below-ground construction, although L&T did not disclose the planned parking capacity, built-up area or delivery schedule.

In Hyderabad, the company will build a premium commercial tower with five basements and 22 floors. The statement did not provide details about the tower’s planned office area, tenant mix, location or construction timeline. It also did not state whether the residential and commercial developments form part of larger mixed-use projects.

The three orders reflect the continued concentration of large-scale building activity in India’s biggest metropolitan and technology-led urban markets. Mumbai’s project involves high-rise residential construction, while Bengaluru’s order combines vertical housing with multiple basement levels. Hyderabad’s project is focused on premium commercial space, adding an office-building component to the announcement.

L&T described itself as a USD 32 billion Indian multinational engaged in engineering, procurement and construction projects, hi-tech manufacturing, products and services across multiple domains and geographies. The company did not disclose the expected revenue recognition, project completion dates or the proportion of the orders represented by the new developments and the add-on work.

The projects will now move through the company’s construction and execution process. Further information on the client, locations, contract values, approvals and completion milestones was not included in the announcement.
