Karnataka IPS officers who have completed their training have been appointed as assistant superintendents of police in four sub-divisions, according to a state government order reported on August 31, 2026. The postings cover areas in Shivamogga, Udupi, Dharwad and Uttara Kannada districts.
Dr Bhanuprakash J has been assigned to the Thirthahalli sub-division in Shivamogga district. Ishita Gupta has been posted as ASP of the Karkala sub-division in Udupi district.
Ananya Srivastava has been appointed to the Hubballi Rural sub-division in Dharwad district, while Ranu Gupta has been assigned to the Bhatkal sub-division in Uttara Kannada district.
The four officers belong to the 2023 and 2024 batches of the Indian Police Service and had completed their training before receiving the new assignments. The appointments place them in charge of police administration at the sub-divisional level in their respective jurisdictions.
The postings span both coastal and interior parts of Karnataka, including Thirthahalli and Hubballi Rural in the state’s western and northern regions, and Karkala and Bhatkal along the coastal belt. Assistant superintendents of police serve in district police structures and handle responsibilities assigned to their sub-divisions under the district administration.
The government order marks the next posting stage for the four recently trained officers. The report did not provide details of their joining dates or any additional administrative instructions linked to the appointments.
