Karnataka IAS postings announced by the state government on September 8 assign seven 2024-batch officers to sub-divisional officer roles across the state, while also changing senior administrative responsibilities in Bengaluru’s municipal system.
The appointments place officers in charge of the Chikkamagaluru, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Bidar, Savanur, Karwar and Lingasugur sub-divisions. The order was reported by Prajavani, which attributed the appointments to the Karnataka government.
Pururaj Singh Solanki has been appointed sub-divisional officer of Chikkamagaluru. Ritwik Verma has been posted to the Kalaburagi sub-division, while Zufishan Haq has been appointed to Vijayapura. Abhinav Jain has been assigned to Bidar.
Khode Sameer Prakash has been appointed sub-divisional officer of Savanur in Haveri district. R. Ramya has been posted to Karwar, and Nagendra Babu Kumar has been appointed to the Lingasugur sub-division in Raichur district.
The same set of postings also includes changes to senior positions in the Greater Bengaluru area. Dr K. Rakesh Kumar, who was serving as commissioner of the Social Welfare Department, has been appointed commissioner of the Greater Bengaluru area’s South City Corporation.
K. N. Ramesh, who was serving as commissioner of the Bengaluru South City Corporation, has been appointed special commissioner for health and education in the Greater Bengaluru area. The appointment assigns the officer responsibility within the newly structured municipal administration, according to the report.
IAS officer C. T. Shilpa Nag, who was awaiting a posting, has been appointed special commissioner for elections, disaster management, public relations and coordination in the Greater Bengaluru area. R. Venkatachalapathi, who was serving as a special commissioner in the Greater Bengaluru area, has been appointed additional commissioner of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation.
The appointments cover both field-level sub-divisional administration and senior municipal functions in Bengaluru. The seven postings involving 2024-batch officers affect administrative units across central, northern and coastal Karnataka, while the Bengaluru appointments concern civic functions including health, education, elections and disaster management.
The government order’s effective dates and any additional operational instructions were not provided in the report. The appointments take effect through the state government’s posting order, with the named officers assigned to their respective sub-divisions and municipal responsibilities.
